About The Challenge

The goal of the AI & Data Innovation Challenge for Climate-Resilient Public Infrastructure is to catalyze the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics in enhancing the resilience and sustainability of public infrastructure. This challenge, set against the backdrop of DSC Europe 24 and in partnership with the World Bank’s PIM-PAM.net, seeks to drive forward-thinking solutions in public investment and land use that are adaptable to climate challenges.

The focus of this challenge is on innovating and implementing AI and data-driven strategies to upgrade public infrastructure. Participants are encouraged to develop solutions that not only address current infrastructure needs but also anticipate future environmental and societal changes. Emphasis is placed on creating inclusive, digitally enhanced, and environmentally sustainable public services.

Participants are tasked with leveraging AI and data science to tackle the pressing issues of climate risk and inefficiency in public infrastructure management. The challenge involves creating solutions that are not only technically viable but also scalable and impactful in addressing the complexities of climate adaptation and resilience in public infrastructure.

This challenge aims to be more than a competition; it’s envisioned as a catalyst for long-term change in the way public infrastructure is planned, developed, and managed. Successful innovations will set the stage for significant advancements in sustainable development, contributing to a more resilient and climate-adaptive future.

To facilitate these innovations, the challenge offers extensive support, including mentorship, access to advanced technological resources, and guidance for developing a Proof of Concept (PoC). Participants will be provided with the necessary tools and expertise to turn their ideas into viable, implementable solutions.
